Review of Girl Online by Zoe Sugg
Firstly, I need to acknowledge that I know I haven't used my blog a lot but I've been busy and kind of didn't know what to write about but today I felt really inspired.
This morning Girl Online arrived, actually the postman woke me up and although I can be really grumpy in the morning - I was very happy when I saw the package from Amazon.
I know how important and how much writers care about feedback (and if this post somehow reaches Zoe) I would like to let her know that I absolutely loved her book!
I may be bias as I've been a subscriber of hers for about a year and I've had the book pre-ordered since June but I would never write something that I didn't find to be true.
I love her collection of the characters. Penny is a protagonist that I really identify with. Elliot is hilarious and God I wished that my best friend lived next door. Tom is the greatest brother in the world and her parents are adorable. Noah is an absolute cutie and her and Penny's interactions seem so genuine.
I wasn't able to put the book down and luckily I had the day off which resulted in me being cuddled up with the book for five hours while I read it cover to cover.
I felt that I grew up a bit with Penny through the book as she learns to believe in herself. It gives you hope with the thought of the possibility of soul-mates in the most adorable way.
Still I loved the few references here and there; like on page 54 with "a sprinkling of glitter". Also Noah and Penny conversation on page 127 about driving on different sides of the road reminded me of Marcus and Connor's collab from last summer.
I also like that she did leak a tiny pit of the theme in Penny's last blog post of the book:
While being lightheartedly and a fun read it also deals with anxiety and being accepted by your parents, through respectively Penny and Elliot. It is a book that stays in your thoughts after you have finished it.
It doesn't surprise me that Zoe's first book is set during December which seems to be her favourite time of the year and even though it isn't strictly a Christmas book, I could imagine making it a tradition that I'll read it every year around Christmas. That's how much I like it!
It might be weird that I feel so proud of Zoe although I have never met her but I am so happy that she has gotten to accomplish one of her dreams. She said in a vlog once that it had been a dream of hers since she was a little girl and I'm so happy that it is now a reality and that the book turned out so well! You're smashing it, girl!
I would recommend this book to everyone but especially to teenagers and if you suffer with anxiety I am sure that this will help you. I don't personally suffer from it but can recognise the feeling of being uneasy in big crowds or when a lot of people talk to you. The anxiety aspects doesn't overshadow the book but I love that it's in it and that it might help people.
Five out of five stars if I were to rate it. As I said in the beginning; I absolutely loved it!

This was a really positive review and I totally agree with it! I'm thinking of reviewing this adorable book on my blog soon :)
