My Advent Calendars 2016

I've always loved opening advent calendars during Christmas time and especially when I was younger, one thing that helped me get out of bed in those cold, dark morning nights were knowing I would be able to open my calendars, especially my chocolate one. Things have changed over the years but I still do love advent calendars.

This year, I was out of the country by the time December rolled around and I think I threw me off massively. So much that I properly only got around to opening most of my advent calendars today, exactly half-way through the countdown to Christmas. But I thought I would make a post about them anyway, so I'll be able to look back on this.

When I was younger, I used to have one chocolate calendar, one scratch-off calendar and share opening the two TV calendars with my younger brother. We still have all of those but I kind of "accidentally" bought a few more from the online shops of YouTubers I watch. Oops?

So I have three chocolate calendars (but you can never have too many right?), one beauty calendar and one scratch-off calendars as well as the several TV calendars that we share as a family, though those have not been featured above. I won't go into depth with the scratch-off calendar or the "plain" chocolate calendar, though I do need to mention that it consist of organic chocolate because my Dad is an absolute sweetheart. I had actually planned on telling my parents that they didn't need to buy me a chocolate one this year but it was already bought by the time I remembered.

Alright, onwards with those calendars I bought myself. First up, we have the chocolate calendar from PointlessBlog, which I hadn't planned on buying but somehow it made its way into my basket while I was checking out. But do look at how cute Nala is!

Following up with another chocolate calendar, this time by Dan and Phil and this one was possibly the one I was most excited for. Other than trusting those boys to pick a wonderful quality, behind every lid was a exclusive photo of them with Snapchat filters. It's so damn adorable.

Finally, I caved and bought Tanya Burr's beauty calendar, which I also bought last year. Tanya Burr Cosmetics is cruelty free, something that I strive to have exclusively at some point, and I love a lot of the products I have from them.

I did a little chocolate taste test of the three chocolates and I have to say the organic and DnP's was a tied favourite and very similar. PointlessBlog was a bit too nutty for my taste though.

I also cannot go without sharing a little snap of Dan and Phil with the golden butterfly filter because they just look so pretty and soft. I'm excited to open and see one of their faces every single day for the next twelve days.

I'm so happy I finally got around to opening my calendars and I can't wait to get into opening them every single day. I feel like I just forgot about it for quite a while and I'm not going to lie, I also wanted to get photos done before starting to open them. However, it did feel very nice to munch on several pieces at the same time. I'm definitely feeling more in the Christmas spirit after opening all those lids, even if our house has yet to be decorated.
