Rejuvenation Day after Holiday | Blogging My Day
I love going on holiday and travelling to see new places. You get to experience things you would never be able to understand unless you are there, smack down in the middle of the culture. That being said, travelling tires me out a lot. I use so much energy on being in a new environment, surrounded by people and unable to retract to a safe space, which is why I take some time to rejuvenate myself after I come back home.
Before being able to tackle my everyday again, I need some time to adjust as I don't really do well with sudden and dramatic shifts in my day - something I became aware of during therapy. So I purposely planned it so that I would not be working today (either of the jobs) and kept my "social calendar" clear as well.
I needed time to just lounge around in my house, catch-up on some of 100+ YouTube videos in my subscription feed, spend some time with my horse and dog, etc. Basically, the perfect quiet day in without doing anything that require too much energy. After this Monday has passed, I have a full calendar jam-packed with work (both places), hang-out with friends, dressage training, a Christmas lunch - you name it, it's probably scheduled in this week.
Now, let me move on to take you through my lovely chilled day. I woke up around 9 AM and subsequently spent an hour squinting at my phone and queueing things on Tumblr. The door bell went off and sent me flying down the stairs, blind as a bat, to get a package from danandphilshop I ordered last Thursday.
I immediately snugged up in the knitted jumper and I think I'm in love. It's so warm and cosy and the collar tugs up around your neck, almost turtle-neck like, and it's just so damn comfortable.
I watched a few of the YouTube videos while I waited for Mum to come back from the doctor's so I could borrow her car and go see Money. It was very chill in the stables, though there were more people on a Monday morning than I expected. Money was happy to see me, neighing immediately as I called out to her and honestly that greeting never gets old. I think my heart will always swell.
I decided just to go for a bareback chilled ride with her, riding around the stables and just enjoying the sunshine, brisk weather and being back on her again. I've had her for so many years now and I just fit so comfortably on her and we work so well together. She's also utterly adorable as evident by the second photo below where she was very interested in what I was doing with my phone.
On the way home, I spotted a car adorned with a red nose and antlers, which always makes me chuckle - every year without fail. The radio also decided to play Gå glad i bad, a song from an old Christmas calendar called Pyrus that I loved growing up. Followed up by Water Under the Bridge by Adele, which I sang along to loudly, I had a wonderful drive home and it was during that I decided to do a Blog My Day for today. I always get so many thoughts while I'm driving - I think it's because my hands are occupied but the activity doesn't require much "brain power" and thus, my mind just runs wild.
Now, I've come home to write this and I will make myself write another chapter for one of my Wattpad stories as that chapter is due tomorrow but I won't have much time to write it then. Afterwards, I'll snugged up in my new knitted Christmas jumper and binge watch YouTube videos, I've already lined up my (very unhealthy) assortment of snacks featuring my new Dan and Phil plushies that arrived along with the jumper. However, my big glass of water is the most essential as I need to rehydrate after inevitably not drinking enough during the holiday.
After finishing writing the chapter (*high-five to self*), I snuggled up in my bed and binge watched the YouTube videos I had saved in my Watch Later playlist. It was so nice to just completely chill out and enjoy the great videos. Around an hour and a half later, Mum and A called me downstairs to watch the first 4 episodes of DR's Christmas calendar, which we missed while we were away. The 24 episode TV show airing daily in the run up to Christmas is a Nordic tradition that I've always loved very much, both as a child and now. Of course, I took my duvet down with me to snuggle up and see what this year's new show had to offer.
After catching up on the Christmas calendar, it was time for dinner, which consisted of jewish inspired bagels. We have a tendency to make "buffet" meals quite a bit, and by this I mean a meal where you lay out the ingredients and create your individual meal, as it's really nice in a family where some of us are picky-eaters. Additionally, I don't eat a lot of meat, though I've moved away from sticking to a pescetarian diet. After dinner, it was time to catch the new episode of the Christmas calendar. I like how it's shaping out so far though it's more fairy tale oriented than Chrismassy.
I've spent the last couple of hours emerged into the YouTube videos again as well as responding to a few messaged and coordinate events with friends. I just thought I'd hop on over here and finish and upload the post before it gets too late. So far, I've managed to stick to my daily upload promise (granted this is only Day 5). I also need to write a blog post centring around my trip to England and that'll be coming in the foreseeable future once I get all the photos moved over and have time to sit down and write basically a giant love letter to Bath (and London).
This was a very good and chill day. I liked it a lot. I got to spend time with my pets and family and settle in to my everyday life a bit more. I feel better equipped to tackle a busy week now.

I've been wearing this all day and I might never take it off (until we say goodbye to December)

Soft golden winter light is a favourite of mine, though my affection for Money trumps it by miles

I have books casually stacked on my little table, both of Dan & Phil's - I'm clearly trash

So damn cosy, snuggled up on the sofa in too many duvets

Photo taken before I filled my bagel to the brim and had stuff falling out of it all over - messy
