Miranda Sings Camp in Copenhagen

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to come along when I saw Miranda Sings was coming to Copenhagen. While I've watched Colleen Ballinger nearly 2 and a half years and love her videos, I had never subscribed to her Miranda channel, though I have occasionally stumbled across those videos and sometimes enjoyed them. But I decided to take the plunge at book a ticket for myself.

I'm slowly becoming comfortable going alone to events and shows and I am sort of proud of myself for being able to do that. It also helped my decision that this was the very last show of the European tour and Summer Camp shows.

I was not disappointed, even though I've always been more interested in Colleen rather than her famous character. It was a hoot of a show, even though we had to queue outside for over half an hour and the show was delayed by fifteen minutes.

The crowd of Mifandas were so sweet and visibly hyped up. One of my highlights was actually when I had to ask a group of girls to get up, so I could get pass them to my seat, and they all said hello in Miranda voice. Obviously, they were also all dressed like her and seemed to be having such a good time. So even while waiting for the show to start, I was feeling great.

One thing that I was very please to see was the transformation from Colleen into Miranda while she sang Defying Gravity, which I had seen recordings of online but it has been absent from her show for a couple of years but she brought it back just for this Summer Camp.

Her transformation into Miranda was obviously fabulous, which can be seen below - poor Kory for having to move her cape around.

Other than that, the show was obviously Summer Camp themed and throughout the show Miranda taught us how to get several patches; nature patch, bae patch, porn patch, participation patch and talent patch.

It was an amazing one woman show with loads of audience participation and everyone did so well on stage. Taking into consideration how all of the kids she pulled up on stage had to speak in their second language and did it so well warmed my heart.

While Miranda was the big star, Colleen's mother Gwen and her best friend/personal assistant Kory also participated. Both were going the Sassy dance at the beginning with Colleen and later the Miranda dance with Miranda and Kory helped with bits and bops throughout. Through watching Colleen's vlogs, I feel I've gained a sense of how it's so important to her to have her loved ones along the ride with her.

While the show was mostly about laughs and Miranda's personality, there were also some little nuggets of wisdom amongst the comedy, which I really appreciated, especially because so many young people were in the audience and generally look up to Colleen/Miranda. So telling us how to ignore the hate and tell the Haters Back Off was one of my favourite segments.

Finally, another element I've seen in some Vidcon vlogs is where Miranda is stabbed through the throat while singing and every time the knife goes in her voice changes to Colleen's real and beautiful voice. It was so funny watching live and Colleen performed incredibly and I'm very glad that scene was still part of her show.

All in all, quite an amazing show and it's clear how much effort has been put into it. And now I feel even more hyped up for when Miranda's new Netflix series will be released on 14th of October. If Colleen or any of her team ends up seeing this post, thank you very much for a wonderful show and an epic night.
