Grace Helbig Said My Freak Week Submission Was Hilarious!!
So much for a quiet night... but I am not even mad about it. I'm just so excited that I need to write about it immediately.
Last Friday, when I should have been writing on my BA project *cough*, I sat down to write my very first submission for Grace Helbig's Freak Week story on Wattpad. I had thought about doing it for a while but having been too busy and too stressed I had never gotten around to it. The challenge that week was to write in group texts, which I found really difficult but I thought my submission turned out nice anyhow and uploaded it.
Well come Thursday, the video went up... and low and behold the Superlative for Best Talking went to my chapter, specifically for my horrible spelling from the character Harry. I surprised myself by being overly excited and genuinely unable to go to sleep. She even called my chapter really hilarious! What?! Me who always feel like my sense of humour is either non-existent or off-beat? I've added the video below because I need to remember this and be able to find it again, she mentions me around the 1:30 minute mark.
Like how is that a real thing? She read my words. A woman I admire for her positive attitude and opinions, who is also a best selling author. I have her two books and of course did a little set-up to try and calm myself down. I adore the mix of silliness and genuine life advice sprinkled throughout, even if it very subtle sometimes.
It actually caught me a bit off guard just how excited I got. I will definitely have to think more about if writing could genuinely be something that I somehow incorporate in my adult life, whenever "adult-ing" truly starts, because I love it so much. I'll leave it here, now that I have in fact calmed down a bit, with a screenshot from the video of Grace reading my purposely horribly misspelled words.
And if this somehow reaches Grace, I'd just like to say thank you very much and keep doing what you love and lead by example. You lovely idiot.
